Help Lynda Rebuild After Altadena Fire
Donation protected

I’m writing on behalf of my beloved youngest sister, Lynda, who has experienced an unimaginable loss due to the devastating Altadena, CA fire. Her entire home was destroyed, leaving nothing behind – no belongings, no memories, no family photos and no place to call her own. Lynda is currently staying with our first cousin Vincent and his wife Arlene. Sadly, Lynda’s two cats – Honey and Tyson – have not been found and may have perished in the fire. Lynda is still holding out hope that her cats somehow escaped.
Lynda’s home was the Session family home (bought in the early 1960s) of nearly 60 years where our parents – Sam and Norma – raised and nurtured Lynda, my oldest sister Cindy, and me. The entire block on which we lived and played was destroyed, as was much of the Altadena community. A front-page article in the Saturday, January 11, 2025, edition of the Washington Post describes the devastation.
My second sister Cindy is currently in a skilled nursing facility where she has been struggling for 3 years to heal from a myriad of serious health conditions, including being on an oxygen tank 24/7. Cindy’s only respite was visiting Lynda at our family home on Sundays and on holidays. By the grace of God, I was able to spend quality time with both Cindy and Lynda during this past Christmas holiday. Little did I know that would be the last time I would be able to visit that home.
As her brother, it breaks my heart to see Lynda go through this, but I know that with the help of our friends, family, and colleagues, we can support her in this long journey ahead. That’s why I’m reaching out to ask for your help. The funds raised will go directly to Lynda to cover immediate needs such as clothing, basic necessities, and the resources she needs to start rebuilding her life and a new home.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a tremendous difference. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this page with others who might be able to help would mean the world to us.
On behalf of Lynda and our family, thank you for your love, prayers and support.
