With a heavy heart, we want to share some sad news that we learned on July 3, 2020.
Our dad, Dave Meuse, received words no one will ever be prepared to hear. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has metastasized in his liver.
That day will forever be the day that our worlds were completely shattered in what seemed to be a million pieces. In the last few weeks, we have been angry, have cried, and have been left feeling hopeless as we learned more about his diagnoses.
For those of you who are lucky enough to know our dad, you know that he is beyond an extraordinary person. He is the most selfless, giving, and strongest person we know. He didn’t hesitate once in sacrificing everything in his life to raise his three children Caitlyn, Christy and Michael alone.
He did everything in his ability to give us the best life that was filled with so many memories and so much love. The bond and love the four of us have for each other is because of our dad.
In 2015, we were lucky enough to add another sibling, Savannah, into our tight nit family. As you can all imagine, our dad is our rock and the most important person in all of our lives. Staying true to who he is, his biggest concern in all of this has been his children and his family.
Even in the midst of tragedy he still puts everyone else above himself.
Since his diagnosis we have been blessed enough to build a team of the best physicians at Mass General, who specialize in these particular cancers. But most importantly a team that understands what our dad means to us and promises to do everything they can and more to save his life. A treatment plan that includes aggressive chemotherapy, followed by radiation and surgery has been created for him.
With hopes that this treatment plan will save his life, we unfortunately have a long road and battle ahead of us.
Unfortunately, this battle will leave our dad unable to work his normal hours at work. With the expenses and realization that not all of the necessary treatments and tests required to save our dad’s life will be covered by insurance, we are left, humbly asking for help.
We are asking our friends, family, and loved ones to support and rally behind our dad, so he can focus on the only thing that matters right now.
To beat this cancer.
We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all of the love and support shown to our family during this time.
Dave is officially in fight mode and plans to give this battle everything he has. His story is nowhere near ready to end, with many more memories to be made.
