Traumatic Brain Injury

Donation protected

On August 1st 2017, my world was changed upside down. Can you imagine receiving a phone call at work that your healthy and happy 2 year old was unresponsive and being rushed to ER? And when you get there, no one will tell you where your child is, what happened or if your child is okay? Yeah that's how my visit there was. For 45 minutes I didn't know anything, all I could do was cry and pray and beg for answers and when I finally got them, it was then that I was met by a neurosurgeon, and he informed me that i needed to sign a piece of paper to save her life right away no further details. 30 minutes later a detective then asked to speak with me to get more information of how Cai'lee was doing prior to me going to work… That morning she woke up early with me while I got myself together for work, typical morning. She cried a little because she didn't want me to leave, but I gave her some candy and water turned on cartoons, told her I love her and that I would see her when I got home from work and be a good girl. She said I love you too okay mommy… the last words I heard from my child. Cailee suffered a traumatic brain injury at the hands of someone I thought loved and word protect my daughter by any means. Cai'lee suffered multiple seizures on the way to the hospital and it continued when she arrived. Cai'lee brain had swelling on the brain and was the size of a baby basketball. She died 7xs in the hospital before surgery. They had to remove the front half of her skull on the left side to give the brain more room to swell or she could die. My 2 year was placed in a medical induced coma because of all the trauma her body indured. For two weeks round the clock I sat and prayed and cried until I couldn't shed another tear. When she finally was weined off all the Sedition medication she opened her right eye, and then they tried extibating her and that was not a sight for any parent to see, their child struggling to breathe. I begged them to intubate her, and during that process she almost stopped breathing so the only option next was giving her a tracheostomy to help her breathe, I mean it was blow after blow with it all. I mean I couldn't believe my eyes or ears nothing seemed right at all. I'm a single mother that feels like I failed my child, all I wanted to do was work and be able to provide for her. I could not believe what our life had turned into. Cai'lee is currently in a children's rehabilitation center where she has to learn to walk, eat, sit up, crawl and talk again. Can you imagine the pain of watching your child struggling to do things that once were so easy to do? Every day i cry… Unfortunately we can not be released from the hospital until insurance approves for a round a clock nurse that is needed and ALL the necessary equipment and furniture, and treatment she now requires. Never did I ever imagine our life to take such a hard hit. I ask that you donate all that you could to help us get her to where she needs to be and anything is greatly appreciated.
