Save Perez - A boy turned into an animal
Donation protected
We are a group of Africans in the Diaspora who strongly believe that "it takes a community to raise a child" (UBUNTU). We are looking to raise £30,000 for Perez, a young boy from eastern Uganda, who has been turned into an animal (Please see the video).
We are seeking for a total of £30K for;
1. Short term need:
- Moving Perez to Dona autistic residential centre in Kampala
- Perez’s ongoing care and support and medical treatment
- Supporting Perez's siblings.
2. Medium need:
- To raise awareness of autism syndrome in Uganda, while working in partnership with relevant departments with jurisdiction for autistic children and their families in Uganda
3. Long term need:
- To build a residential autism centre in Uganda that would support all autistic children in Uganda and Africa at large.
Perez lost his father early this year ( March 2019) and his mother is not in the picture for personal circumstances.
He is currently being looked after by his 17 year old sister who lives with him. Perez has two other siblings aged 14 and 7 who are living in a family home. However because Perez’s siblings needs to go to school and due to the severity of Perez’s autism and lack of any intervention , Perez’s behaviour is risk to self.
Therefore the siblings have no other alternative but to tie Perez on the tree in the bush as their way of managing his behaviour during the day. Every morning Perez is tied up until his siblings come back from school. The sibling sister has No knowledge of autism.
Would you kindly join us in this great cause by putting any amount of contribution that you can afford and share this message together with the go fund page with your networks.
have attached the video of what the fundraising team has done so far.
Thank you in advance
