My name is Guy Booth I'm an opera singer from Brisbane Australia. I have for the past three years been going through a divorce after a 20 year relationship. This came as quite the shock to me and I guess you could say for the past two years I have been living in a state of shock. My world it seems crumbled around me and while grappling with life as a single person for the first time in my adult life I lost my way.
I stopped singing, I didn't feel there was much to sing about. Without my partner I thought what's the point of singing what's the point of life and fell into a deep depression and there I stayed. I've been stuck there until recently. Just as I was beginning to put my life together again and begin teaching singing Then I was rendered found homeless and have been for the past 3 months. During these past months my depression returned with a vengence.
My only saving grace was the love of my most loved for legged friend and companion Karsten a 3 year old schmoodle. A ball of fury and joy. But we have found ourselves having to sleep in the Botanic Gardens in Brisbane City , and a storage bay used to store my belongings after becoming homeless in the middle of the Covid19 pandemic.
I just today have been approved for a new apartment for Karsten Bear and myself to call home. The prospect of again living in a residence that is ours and not having the fear of where we will sleep each day is overwhelming not just for the obvious reasons of saftey security and easing up on the optional stress and trauma of the past two years and the ability to work and teach giving my life purpose again.
But I need Help which is not an easy thing for me to say.
But we need help, I need help in securing the money's required to start again in this new apartment so I now on a friend's advice decided to do this Go Fund Me page. Please if you could assist in any way to make this much needed Newstart a reality I would be most grateful. And I can assure you the donations would indeed see me with a roof finally back over my head and the security that brings with it.
And inturn the hope for a future free of homelessness and one of a productive nature giving singing lessons
