Jim Schommer has ALS, and it's very important to him that he spend as much time as possible with his family in Ohio. Right now he and his daughter and grandchild live in Temecula, CA, hours away from his closest brother in CA. The plane fare alone to fly him to Ohio is $20,000, and the cost of home care runs over $250 per day.
