Our Story
Bentley isn’t just our dog—he’s family. He’s woven into our daily lives, into our routines, and into our hearts in a way only those who love their fur babies truly understand.
What began as an ordinary day on April 9th quickly turned into a nightmare. Around 1:00 PM, Bentley—our black Goldendoodle—went missing near Cheatham Ford Road by the Emerald Hill Wedding Venue in Hiddenite. We searched, prayed, and asked others to share his story, hoping someone would find him.
The next day brought small glimpses of hope. Sightings started coming in as Bentley continued traveling farther and farther from home. People tried to help, calling us and even attempting to catch him—but Bentley runs like a deer, and no one could get close enough to him, even his own family.
By Saturday, the calls stopped.
The silence was deafening. Hope began to slip through our fingers, and we feared the worst.
Then, at 11:00 PM that night, we received a call that shattered us.
A man named Keith told us his friend had seen Bentley get hit by a car early that morning—around 5:00 AM—on Highway 64… over 13 miles from home. He tried to stop and help, but Bentley, frightened and hurt, kept running.
We didn’t hesitate. Our entire family jumped in the truck and rushed to the location—bracing ourselves for what we thought would be the unthinkable. We were preparing to bring our boy home… but not the way we had prayed for.
But God had other plans.
By His grace, my son Brycen spotted him. After lying injured on the side of the road all day in the heat, Bentley was still alive.
We carefully picked him up, loaded him into the truck, and rushed him to the emergency vet—praying the entire way.
We truly believe God answered our prayers that night.
Where Things Stand Now
We didn’t get home until after 3:00 AM that night, completely exhausted—but incredibly thankful.
Bentley is still with us!
There is no internal damage, and his bloodwork came back better than expected considering everything he’s been through. That alone feels like a miracle.
But the road ahead is still very serious.
Bentley has suffered extensive trauma to his face and nose, and he will need specialized reconstructive surgery once he is stable enough to be transferred to another facility.
Bentley is a fighter and we will do everything within our power to give him a fighting chance, regardless of the cost.
Why We’re Asking for Help
The emergency care alone has been overwhelming, and the specialized surgery he needs is something we simply cannot handle on our own.
We have already accumulated nearly $7,500 in veterinary expenses, and Bentley has not yet undergone any surgeries. While our goal may seem high, the total cost of his care is realistically expected to approach $20,000.
We never imagined being in this position—but we would do anything to give Bentley the chance to fully heal and live the life he deserves.
Every donation will go toward:
- Emergency veterinary care
- Specialized surgical treatment
- Hospital transfer and monitoring
- Ongoing recovery and follow-up care
From Our Hearts
First and foremost, we serve a God who hears prayers—and we have seen that firsthand.
From the moment Bentley was found, to the care he’s receiving now, to the incredible love and support from so many of you… God has been faithful through it all.
We are deeply humbled and forever grateful.
Thank you for every prayer, every message, every share, and every act of kindness. It has meant more than words can express.
