The images from the aftermath of the earthquake in Nepal are haunting. Aftershocks still continue leaving many to live under tents without much hope of a home to return to.
After I had my second baby, I wanted some help at home and hired Tsering. She is the epitome of the immigrant American struggle. Originally Tibetan refugees, her family found safety in Nepal. Both she and her husband live in New York with the hopes to make money to support her children, ages 3 and 6, in Kathmandu. The earthquake brought more hardship. Their home in Kathmandu was destroyed forcing the children to live under a tarp with their grandmother in brutal conditions.
Me and my family have already pledged support to help Tsering, but know that many of you have expressed sincere compassion for her story. Any donation you can give to help would be greatly appreciated. These funds will help with the expense of bringing her children to live with her in NY and rebuild their home in Nepal.
