Hi, my name is Jennifer Farrell and I have created this fundraiser for my niece, Heather Tucker, to help cover her out of pocket medical expenses and treatment related expenses such as meals, lodging, parking, etc., while she has to take time off from work.

I think that anyone who knows her would agree that Heather is a vibrant 28-year-old who lives life to the fullest. She loves her family, friends, animals, her Peachtree City community, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Falcons, and ATL United. She is a natural-born leader and has a huge heart. Her smile is contagious and her ability to find the silver lining in every situation is remarkable. Now, she needs our help.

Heather was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive type of breast cancer. Just a month ago, prior to diagnosis, she was active, healthy, and busy preparing for the holidays. Then she started feeling nauseous, had some back pain and thought she should just "power through" it. However, after 5 days of feeling really crummy, her mom, Alicia, took her to urgent care. We fully expected she'd get some fluids and go home. Instead, tests showed that she had 4 fractured vertebrae causing the back pain and they determined that she had some kind of cancer in her bones. We are all still in shock that this could happen so quickly.

After extensive scans, biopsies, etc. Heather has been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her bones and her liver. She is currently receiving radiation treatments on her spine to give her some pain relief and she will start her first three-month round of chemotherapy immediately after the radiation treatments are finished.

Heather was very reluctant when I initially approached her about creating this fundraising campaign. She said that she is not used to being a person who needs help- she is usually the helper. I reminded her that she is a person who is always willing to help others in need without a second thought. I explained that she should give the people that she loves the opportunity to support her so she can focus on healing instead of wasting precious energy worrying about medical bills and expenses related to treatment.

You can help support her by making a donation or by sharing this campaign with others who may be moved to contribute. Any amount will help us support her healing journey until she is able to get back on her feet and get back to the life and the work that she loves.
