Hi, my name is DeAnna and I am a part of an amazing group of moms in CBS. One of our moms is facing unimaginable difficulty and we would love to help her family. Mary Jean (MJ), Jason and their son Cole live in CBS. Both MJ and Jason have been living through the darkest of experiences together since 2021. Jason was diagnosed Feb 4, 2021 with Stage Four Esophageal Cancer (Adenocarcinoma) which prevented him from swallowing. Treatments would extend life but there were no routes for cure. He went through radiation and chemotherapy. As a result he developed neuropathy of the hands and feet. He had 4 months with no treatments because things were stable but a later scan showed growth again. This meant more treatment. In May 2022, Jason had a procedure to stretch the esophagus to enable him to swallow.

While Jason was getting diagnosed with cancer, MJ was going into surgery for her right kidney. Since then she has had 3 procedures and 3 surgeries on her right kidney to try and save it, but it didn’t work. On October 12, 2021, she had her final surgery to remove half of her right kidney. Stress on top of stress caused significant flare ups with her autoimmune disease.

From 2020 until now, MJ and Jason have both faced unimaginable health issues that have left them both unable to work. The incredible stress and strain in this economic environment must be heavy to carry. All the while, they try to stay strong for their 16 year old son Cole. The future for the Norris family is full of unknowns. They have always been the first to offer help for others. They have the biggest hearts and would give everything they have to help someone in need. It’s time to help them in return.
