As some of you know, Maddy has begun her adventure in the US with her now-husband Corey. It has been challenging to plan the move, then plan her wedding, and settle into married life. However, she has been adjusting well to her new surroundings and has the incredible support of her in-laws and extended family in Mississippi. While she is waiting for her immigration paperwork to be processed, she only has medical coverage for primary medical care, which includes regular doctor visits and medications.

 

Two weeks ago, she became very unwell and started on medication to help treat an unexpected infection. After a couple of days, she began to feel better and thought she was through the worst of it. Then, during a visit with her best friend, who had come home from Australia to Nashville for a month, things took a turn for the worst. She started to get significant back pain, and the fever spiked, sending her to the hospital.

 

The doctors in Nashville's hospital diagnosed her with a kidney infection, kidney stones, and a kidney abscess. At that time, she was told she would only require admission for 24-hour observation in the ER to ensure the IV antibiotics started to fight the infection; however, the condition was much worse than initially predicted.

 

She is now on her way to recovery following a 5-day stay at the hospital with multiple tests, CT scans and medications to fight the infection. The cost of this will be high, and since she is not yet able to work, this will make repayment of this bill a challenge. Any help would be appreciated. I have set the donation amount to USD 15,000 until I know better the actual number.
