Hi, My name is Clare and the little man in the picture is my son, Finley, when he was 2.

This year is our 7th year of fund raising for Leeds Children's Hospital. So far, Finley and I, have donated over 16,000 advent calendars to help 6 different West Yorkshire based hospitals and also Barnados in Leeds.

We are again trying to raise money to buy advent calendars for ALL children that will be in hospital throughout Yorkshire over the Christmas period.

The Reason:

Finley is now 10 and thankfully really healthy. As a baby and toddler he spent a lot of time in hospital and was in hospital at Christmas for 2 years. Finley has a rare disease that can make him severely poorly and needs annual surgery to keep on top of the issue. He was fed for 3 years via a tube directly in to his stomach.

One year while we were in Leeds Children's Hospital we were given an advent calendar for Finley. I hadn't even realised that it had come round to Christmas time, so it meant so much to us that someone had kindly donated this to us at a time when we felt very lost and alone. We later discovered that the calendar had been bought by a nurse on the ward and I decided then that we would make sure the nurses didn't need to do that again, and our annual appeal was born.

We want to repay this amazing act of kindness and provide EVERY single child in hospital over Christmas with an advent calendar of their own.

The GoFundme is to raise money to buy Chocolate, Non-chocolate, Dairy free, book and sensory advent calendars for children that are nil by mouth.
