Philly Sports fans! Here is your chance to be a part of history. Phase 1 of fundraising will help support architectural renderings and blueprints for the Museum layout and design.
•A permanent, interactive museum heralding the heroics of America’s greatest teams and athletes is planned for Philadelphia’s vibrant Sports Complex. It would be the only public museums celebrating all sports.
•The non-profit Museum of Sports would house world-class collections of priceless memorabilia, a high-tech array of digital, virtual reality and hands-on ‘edutainment’ activities for families and schools, plus retail outlets for snacks, collectibles and memorabilia.
•The $7.5 million project, planned to open in late 2018, is headed by veteran sports and entertainment executive Lou Scheinfeld, in association with memorabilia collector Dr. Nicholas DePace and sports auction executive Ken Goldin. The 25,000 square foot attraction would display more than $30 million worth of rare memorabilia and fun exhibits. Fundraising has begun to open the Museum in the Jetro Building, just steps from the stadiums.
•It will be more than a typical museum or hall of fame. It will be an energetic environment, with a ‘Wow Factor’ of must-see artifacts and sensory entertainment. The site’s demographics are sports fans, families, schools, tourists and conventioneers. The destination is designed as a next-generation magnet for sports seminars, coaches and officials’ clinics, corporate receptions, charity events and private parties.
