Support for Taylor Family

Kristie Taylor has been enjoying what she thought was a normal, healthy pregnancy. However at 34 weeks, Kristie went to a routine apt for an ultrasound and was shaken to her core as she was told her baby had to be delivered early due to low amniotic fluid. Baby Cora was delivered prematurely and is now in the pediatric NICU at Motts Children’s Hospital for the foreseeable future. Cora's kidneys are not functioning and her lungs are a bit small. She has had a port placed for future dialysis and has been receiving breathing assistance as well. The good news is that Cora has a strong heart and is getting stronger every day. Soon she may be off the ventilator and breathing completely on her own. Her doctors are amazed at her strength and progress.

As you can imagine, the Taylor family is beside themselves and completely overwhelmed. They are trying to figure out their new normal while maintaining a routine for their son Charlie and spend every moment they can with Cora. They live in Jackson and must drive to Ann Arbor frequently to be with Cora. Due to these trying circumstances, they are both off of work for the time being. This family is going so much emotionally, but financially the cost is also significant.
