Road to Recovery

On January 19th my husband (affectionately know as Buddah or Johnny) was hit by a car while crossing South Main St. in Fall River. The driver of the car that hit him never stopped leaving him in the street injured. As of now the police have not identified the driver or the vehicle.

Thankfully he survived without any head or spinal trauma however the injuries he does have will require months of healing and rehabilitation. While we have health insurance, there are already and will be more unexpected expenses to come. He’s due to come home on Friday, January 10th. He’s not able to walk or use crutches to be mobile. We are working on a temporary wheelchair ramp to get him into the house. Without it he would require medical transport to get to and from doctors etc. Either way it’s costly and neither is covered by insurance. We’ve been able to secure the various equipment he will need to maneuver in the house. But we don’t know what will be required in the future.

People have inquired about a gofundme to help. Truth is, asking for help is a tough pill for either of us to swallow. We’ve been fortunate enough not to experience anything like this before. My husband and I are so blessed to have an amazing circle of friends and family around us. We so appreciate all the well wishes, phone calls, and visits already.
