Help Alyssa Slocum Study Abroad in Rome, Italy

Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Alyssa Slocum, and I’m reaching out for your support to help me pursue an incredible opportunity to study abroad at the American University in Rome, Italy, from January 2025 through May 2025. Currently, I am a junior majoring in Political Science attending the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, where I’m enrolled in the Honors College Program and have been recognized on the Chancellor’s list. Recently, I was honored by the UMass Chancellor for achieving the highest GPA in the Political Science Department.

While I am super excited about this opportunity to expand my education in an international setting, my financial aid does not cover the additional travel costs and expenses of the study abroad program. Due to a full course load, I have been unable to work this semester, and the recent changes in the FAFSA application have made me ineligible for the Pell Grant and various study abroad scholarships and the college work-study program. While my family is providing all they can, I believe that with the support of our community, this study abroad experience can become a reality, and not only contribute to my academic growth but also align with my long-term goal of pursuing a law degree.
