Sweet baby Luella is only 7 months old and was recently diagnosed with cancer (langerhans cell histiocytosis). Luella just had surgery at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston to remove a huge swollen lymph node from her chest and bone marrow from her hips. She will soon start 12 months of chemotherapy.
Her mother Victoria and father Austin are obviously worried for their baby and also have a two year old daughter Scarlett and Victoria's 13 year old son Elijah to care for; Victoria's 19 year old daughter Savanna recently moved out on her own to work and continue her education.
The family now faces many months of stress, uncertainty and financial strain. Although Austin recently started a new job, he may need to take time off from time to time. They will incur extra significant expenses battling this terrible disease, including missed work, transportation costs to Texas Children's Hospital in the Medical Center, child care, and other expenses not covered by insurance.
