Can't Go Far with a Totaled Car...

I'm Sam — a survivor, creator, and founder of Meauxbility, a nonprofit organization built from my own recovery to help others with these life changing traumas to gain access to life-changing resources.
After a motorcycle accident in 2017 left me paralyzed, I committed my life to recovery, resilience, growth — physically, mentally, spiritually — and to showing others what’s possible when you refuse to quit... and by doing so, my journey began to inspire those around me!

But even with all the progress I've made, life threw me another curveball.

May 2nd, 2025, on my way to physical therapy, I was hit head-on by a speeding Altima that ran a red light.
I had the green arrow. I was as careful as i could be — but in the blink of an eyeeverything changed.

My car — my only way to therapy, training, to progress — is totaled...
But this wasn’t just any old Kia, Her name was Pearl — the Optima that could.
She represented safety, freedom, and independence.

Last year, I made a major leap: I was able to move over 1,000 miles from Louisiana to Colorado to train with the best physical trainers to help progress my walking!
I didn’t have the money for a new car, but Derrick at DS Auto wouldn't let that stop me from this opportunity!
They let me use Pearl for the first two months for FREE and gave me a deal I could afford.

Pearl gave me the freedom to explore, to roll through the Rocky mountains, to go where I wanted — something I've missed out on a lot since my spinal cord injury.

Now, I’m paying over $7,100 on a totaled vehicle, no way to get around, and thousands more needed to reinstall my adaptive driving equipment. Another struggle i will survive.
I live on $870 a month from disability — and without a car, I can’t get to therapy, appointments, or keep building momentum for Meauxbility.

This isn't a pity party, I’d like to work my way to it.
I can edit videos, build websites, design social content — if you need something, let me know.
I want to keep earning my way forward.

Losing Pearl has hit me hard — not just financially, but emotionally. That car gave me a sense of normalcy, of being able to wake up and go after my dreams without having to rely on others.
The freedom to move is something many take for granted, but for me, it’s a lifeline.
Being mobile is how I show up to train, to learn, to inspire, to lead — to live this next chapter I’ve worked so hard for.

My goal isn't just to get back on the road — it's to launch into this next chapter fully.
I want to travel, to speak publicly, to create content that shows others how we can shift our mindset through storms, and learn to dance in the rain.

Meauxbility isn’t just a organization — it’s a movement, and I want to drive it forward, literally..
But in my normal fashion, im shooting for a dream — to drive again in a Cadillac CTS-V, not for luxury, but because it symbolizes strength, power, and the independence I fight for every day.
I'm willing to work for it, I just don't know how.
I want to keep showing others that no matter how impossible it feels, with faith, hard work, and the right community — our dreams can be possible!

If you’ve followed my journey, been moved by a story of survival, or believe in turning pain into purpose — please consider sharing!

Your support will help me pay off the totaled vehicle to replace it, and install the adaptive equipment that allows me to drive freely and thrive independently.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me get back behind the wheel.

Survivor. Creator. Leader. Disruptor.
