Hello my name is Timothy Jones, most of you may know me as Tim! I am a recent Clayton High School graduate. During my time at CHS I played soccer and was an officer in the NJROTC program. In my senior year at Clayton I decided to try out for the school track team. What started out as a way to keep my body in shape and myself occupied turned into my current passion.
Since February 2016, I have made very impressive improvements. I started off running the 400 meter dash. My very first time running this event my time was 1:02. In a short period of time and a lot of hard work my current time in this event is 51.4!
I am also on the 4x200 meter relay team and the 4x400 meter relay team. At the end of my school year my 4x200 relay team missed qualifying for Nationals by 1 second!!!! This summer I have been part of a Track & Field club called Track Xplosion. My age group 17-18 has done extremely well in the events that I run (400 meter dash, 4x200 & 4x400 meter dash).
Because of my work ethic and consistent improvement in time I was placed on a 4x800 meter realy team. My first time running this event was this July at the USA Track & Field Junior Olympic REGIONAL Competion, held in Maryland. My relay team advanced and we now have the amazing opportunity to compete in the 2016 USATF Junior Olympics NATIONAL Competion in Sacramento, California!!!!!
This is an amazing opportunity for me and my relay team, it is a true testament to what can happen with discipline and hard work.
The funds I am raising are for my trip to Sacramento, California. These funds will cover my airfare, room and board, meals, and any incedentials. I leave for Sacramento on July 25th 2016 and return on August 1st 2016.
I am grateful for the opportunity and I THANK YOU in advance for helping me achieve my goal!!!
