There are many amazing stories I have lived during my 14 years as a Humanitarian worker. A great majority of them, together with Joka, my life partner-in-crime.

Often, when we shared those anecdotes, people wondered why we did not want to write a book about them.

For a long time, we did not feel like doing it. Until a few years ago, we finally decided to put some of our stories in writing.

The stories are narrated in the first person because I can express the situations from our perspective, without filters and makeup.

Everything written has happened to us; there are no fictional lines. Stories lived with such intensity, uniqueness, and deep meaning.

This book is about humane encounters. All the stories are centered on the people involved. We were only the spectators, the trigger, the rebel, the companion, or simply the witnesses of such unforgettable moments.
