NEPAL EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND

   The devastating earthquake of 7.8 multitude has affected thousands and thousands of Nepalese lives. According to the recent updates on casualties, the number of bodies found so far has exceeded more than 5,000 and around 8,000 injured. The death toll is expected to increase. Due to the generosity of many nations and local citizens, many affected cities are receiving different kinds of aid. It is unfortunate and heart breaking to know that people in the rural areas are not receiving any kind of aid for various reasons.
       Our Village; where we were born.

        We are from a small village called Tatopani, Bokchen VDC-9 (Village development committee), several miles north of Kathmandu valley. Along with many other villages, our village also faced fatal destruction due to the earthquake. Even though the number of people injured was relatively less, everyone was left homeless. They lost everything they value. All they have now is the company of each other  and  a sheet of plastic to protect themselves from the torturous weather. It is going to take days for the foreign aid to reach these villages because the only route that connects our town to other major cities is washed away by flood and landslides.
 The Road to our Village from Kathmandu has been devastated.

        Our district (Sindhupalchok) is the most affected region. The foreign aid that Nepal has been receiving will not be distributed equally because of the corrupted government. Our District people is not receiving the assistance that is required. People are still waiting for the aid to reach them. Thus, we decided to take the initiative to help our and neighbouring villages. Also, if we all took part in helping our own area then the recovery will be much more effective and quick.
        We are heading back to Nepal in a month to help our family, neighbors and many others who are desperately in need of help. We will be taking urgent needs tents, dry foods, mattresses and medecines and other basic essentials to distribute our people who are in dire need.
