From Stella's mom:

"This is the strongest girl I know right here. Sunday, Stella had a bike accident. She fell and the handlebar went into her stomach, came back out and so did some of her intestine. We were in Fruitland when it happened so we rushed her down a dirt road, got picked up by an ambulance and were flown by life flight helicopter to the hospital. She had surgery.

Amazingly, and by God's grace, the handlebar only nicked her intestines which was stitched up, and side swiped an artery and vein but didn’t rupture it, it did create a hematoma so we are in the hospital for a few days to rule out internal bleeding and infection. She is such a trooper. She stayed conscious the entire time till surgery. She quoted Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” while we both were on the ground, holding pressure on her stomach and Seb got the truck.

It’s been a terrifying last two days. But God is so so good and has been with her and us every step of the way. He has blessed us with peace and kept this injury from being so much worse. He has worked a miracle with her and we are so thankful."

Sebastian and Jenna have medical insurance, but it does not cover any surgeries and only covers 20% of the life flight bill. In addition to the small amount they pay for the life flight, the insurance will pay $10,000 for the hospital bill. Stella is still in the hospital to watch for internal bleeding and infection, so you can only imagine what the total hospital bill will be. (I will update that information as we know more.)
