Trevor “TJ” Moore needs your help. This seemingly healthy young man is faced with an unsurmountable financial burden that we can all help him overcome. Let me tell you TJ’s story.

This is a crazy time for everyone and it has affected us all in a multitude of ways. We’re all grateful to be healthy. Those of us with our jobs still – are incredibly grateful to have them.

Imagine having to make the tough decision to see a doctor because you have chest pains.  

Your first instinct is to wait it out. You’re young, it’s probably just stress. No biggie. It’ll pass. You don’t want to expose yourself to a hospital environment during a pandemic. You JUST got your job back which is a blessing given so many people are without one, so you don’t want to jeopardize that. But chest pains…that’s a big deal. Your parents convince you that you NEED to go to the hospital. So you make that tough decision and get it checked out.

The next 12 hours happen real fast…

Imagine now being told they found an aneurysm in the aortic valve of your heart.

Imagine now being told you have to have emergency open heart surgery. RIGHT NOW.

Imagine being told had you NOT come in – this would have killed you. Not maybe. Had you not come in, you would be dead. You would not have seen tomorrow. Words can’t describe the fear you would feel.

 
Now imagine all of this at 28 years old.

 
That’s where TJ is now. Thank God he has made it through the surgery, but now he’s faced with a mountain of growing medical bills. TJ was in the hospital for 8 days but will have a long recovery period of 8 weeks. That’s just to get back to normal life.

But normal is now redefined for TJ. He will be on medication for the rest of his life now. There will always be routine doctor visits. 

I’m asking for your help. TJ is a kind soul who has always been there for anyone who needs him. He needs us now. TJ just recently got his job back after things starting re-opening, but not long enough to get the health insurance yet. He’s a tire technician and is working hard to become a full-fledged mechanic. He has always loved cars and has a way with them. As he was waiting for doctors to operate on his heart, TJ was asking about his job and if it would be ok. He just got his job back and as he’s prepping for surgery he asks his dad “Do you think I’ll get fired because of this?”

Because that is his kind soul.
