TJ's fight with Diabetes & CIDP
Donation protected
TJ Rosado worked for our family at Cardoza Plumbing for 22 years. TJ worked his way up through the ranks from Apprentice to Journeyman. He was one of our most skilled Plumbers and a very loyal employee to the Cardoza Team.
In 2017 TJ was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Unfortunately, he had been living with diabetes for some time before his diagnosis and quickly developed Neuropathy which lead to his diagnosis of the Autoimmune Disease Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), in January of 2019. CIDP is a neurological disorder, a condition that targets your body’s nerves. Before his diagnosis of CIDP his legs and hands would become numb. TJ thought it was a result of his job as a plumber mechanic for over 2 decades.
In early January 2019 his foot began to swell. X-Rays and testing revealed that his foot was fractured & deteriorating, a condition called Charcot Foot. Charcot foot is a rare but serious complication that can affect persons with peripheral neuropathy, especially those with diabetes. He immediately had to stop working & was put in a cast to reduce further deterioration of his foot.
Charcot foot could lead to amputation if TJ does not stay off his feet. As a result, he is unable to return to physical work indefinitely. Yesterday 5/27/20, he received the permanent boot he will have to wear for the rest of his life.
The symptoms he endures because of the disease are devastating; loss of all strength in his hands and legs, loss of balance causing increased difficulty walking and constant pain.
TJ is a family man, loving husband to Janeen and father to Jaden (15) & Jake (13). He is a true friend & one of the hardest working plumbers we had.
TJ and his family’s future is in financial strain as he is unable to return to work. We humbly ask that you help support TJ and his family.
