Last year my beloved Brother in Law, TJ was diagnosed with a rare pulmonary disease, PAH. Dr’s explained that there was only one drug available for treatment. Pill nor patches worked, so they installed a Port-A-Cath and he’s been wearing a pump, 24/7 for the last seven months. Unfortunately, the drug is not enough. PAH has ravished his lungs and is damaging his heart. He’s dying. Dr’s say that his only chance is a double lung and liver transplant. So it’s on! My incredible Sister Tracy embraced her new caregiver role and now they have been forced to set up a second residence in Durham, NC. It’s been an emotional and devastating journey getting here, but our little Family is full of fight. Duke has approved his transplant!!! They’re getting him in his best possible fighting shape with PT, belly drains, nutrition therapy and all the partnership and guidance imaginable. We know this is the place to be to save his life.

 

Words can’t express how thankful we are for the prayers and support we’ve received, up to this point. While Tracy and TJ are fighting this battle, the loss of TJ’s income has placed a financial burden on them. Bills are piling up and the expenses are never ending.
