In the early hours on May 29, TJ stood up from bed, and collapsed instantly. His wife, Desirae, called 911, but was unable to perform CPR on him since he fell between the bed and the wall. EMT's arrived less than five minutes from when she called. EMT's were still performing CPR on him while they were leaving.

TJ was life flighted to Bismarck. Doctors administered many tests to figure out what caused this. They discovered that TJ has a heart condition called Brugada Syndrome. This is a heart rhythm disorder; this causes the chambers of the heart to not be rhythmically in sync. Most people don't know they have it until they have a cardiac episode. 

Doctors ruled TJ's incident as a heart attack. Although he has never regained consciousness, they have placed him in a medically induced coma in order to give his body time to rest. He is being kept in a hypothermic state for him to accept the coma requirements. He is not breathing on his own. They soon will start warming his body back up to normal, but this takes 24 hours to complete. After he is warmed,  can maintain his temperature, and won't spike a fever, they will wean off the sedation and see if he can breathe on his own. They are unfortunately concerned for brain damage considering how long TJ was without oxygen.

TJ is a business owner in Watford City. He owns and operates DC Crane and Rigging. He loves his Harley Davidson and rides his bike whenever a chance comes. 

Currently, we are all in limbo as far as outcome goes. When the doctors remove sedation for the coma away, we will know more. I'm saddened to say that the doctors only gave TJ a 15-20% survival rate.
