Hi, my name is Magdalis. I’ve always been independent, working since I was 14. But this past year has been unlike any other—a test of resilience, faith, and healing.

In 2024, I faced a severe health crisis. After years of relying on steroid creams to manage eczema, I developed Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW)—a painful condition that can take years to recover from. TSW comes with a wide range of severe symptoms, including:

• Painful, burning skin and redness (erythema)

• Peeling, flaking, or widespread skin exfoliation

• Swelling (edema) and tingling sensations (paresthesia)

• Skin thinning, wrinkling, and other atrophic changes

• Steroid-induced dermatitis, papules, and nodules

• Pain, sleep disturbances, and fatigue

• Hair loss (alopecia)

• Tremors or shivering

• Mood changes, including depression

During this time, I also developed cataracts in one eye, which required surgery and further complicated my ability to work. To survive and focus on healing, I’ve used all of my retirement savings, pouring everything I had into keeping myself afloat while building a foundation for long-term health.

Despite these challenges, I made a promise to myself: instead of letting this illness take three years of my life (as it often does), I would do everything in my power to heal in just one year. I leaned into therapy, yoga, and holistic practices, completed a yoga teacher training, and began sharing my wellness journey online.

Now, I’m 9 months into my healing journey—and I’m so close to the finish line. I’ve fought through the hardest stages and created a foundation for a healthier, sustainable life. But I’ve fallen behind on bills, and I don’t want to lose the stability I’ve worked so hard to rebuild.

To make it through the rest of this year without setbacks, I’m asking for help. My goal is $10,000, which will cover rent and basic living expenses so I can finish this chapter of healing and fully step into the next phase of my life—sharing my story and helping others through wellness.
