
Tipton FBLA National Competition Fundraiser
Hello, all!! My name is Mark Langenfeld, and I am a high school business teacher at Tipton High School in Tipton, IA. I am over the moon excited to be on here fundraising money for my Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club and my student's first ever trip to the national competition!
FBLA is an organization that inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.
In our first year as an FBLA chapter, 18 students from Tipton attended the state conference where they competed in various tests, presentations, mock interviews, and performances in wide-array of different business related topics. Of those 18 students, 15 of them were recognized on stage as state finalists by placing in the top 6 (shown in the attached picture with their awards). To qualify for nationals, students had to place in the top 4. My students left my jaw on the floor by qualifying 12 students for the national competition!!!
However, since we are a first year club, we have not yet established enough funds to pay for a trip like this. Expenses for each student to travel to San Antonio for the national competition are going to cost them around $750 apiece ($370 travel, $260 hotel accomodations for 5 nights, and $120 for conference registration fees).
So, on behalf of my students, their education, and all of the hard work they have put in this inaugural year of our club, I am asking for your help to reach a donation goal of $2250. This will cover the cost of 1/4 of the trip for each individual attending the national conference and would make a huge impact in our overall expenses.
