Chloe's Duke TIP Fund
Donation protected
We are so proud of Chloe! She was asked by Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) to take the SAT, even though she is only in 7th grade. This was an honor in and of itself, as only the top 5% of academically talented kids are asked to take the SAT through TIP. Those that meet the SAT score requirements in specific areas are then further asked to attend the TIP Summer program. Chloe's critical reading scores have allowed her this amazing opportunity! She is very interested in attending the Creative Writing course offered through Duke TIP at Appalachain State University this summer.
Chloe has had a rough couple of years, due to GI and respiratory issues. She has been hospitalized 3 times, but she is doing very well now. Between hospital bills and the need to get a new vehicle, money is a bit tight for our family. The program is awesome, but more than we can afford. I hesitated to start this fund, wanting to be able to do this on our own, but so many people reached out to us asking how they could help and encouraged us to start this fund. So, here we are!
In order to show responsibilty and apprecaition for the generousity of others, Chloe has agreed to work 10 community hours for every 1000$ recieved, and if the entire goal is met she will work 40 hours total. It will be a way for her to pay it forward.
Chloe is an awesome kid. She has always had a big heart, a way with words, a willingness to help others, a sense of responsibility to do good in the world, and many other attributes of an old soul. This is a well-deserved opportunity. If you feel inclined to help her reach this goal, she will be full of gratitude for your kindness and will never forget the opportunity you helped her attain.
