Long story short, I'm a trans guy and like it or not I'm currently carrying a few spare parts I'd rather not be.

As a result, I bind a lot which is uncomfortable and a nightmare in the summer. (Imagine wearing a corset for 10 hours a day on the hottest day of the year? It's not great!) That on top of the daily reminder that they're there which has been weighing heavily on my mind recently. Mentally, it's a huge thing to deal with every day.

I have a consultation booked in March and will likely be going under in the summertime, and as someone who HATES medical things and has a huge aversion to seeking help, this is pretty hard for me.

But I am longing for long summer evenings and being able to wear an open shirt on the beach. Being comfortable in public. Being able to take my hoody off without panicking that I'm about to out myself. Being able to post thirst traps on Twitter that I know you're all crying out for.. Okay, maybe not the last one, but I know the pain and mental strain is going to be well worth it in the end.

I'm asking for £3000 towards the costs of the hotel, the transport (I don't know anyone who can drive me home so it'll be a hotel stay and a train back the next day plus a few check-ups after) I'll need specific binders, medication and foods for after the event and as a freelancer I don't get paid leave, so I'll be earning nothing in my recovery time. After the recent move, my savings are long gone, so anything that can pay my bills will ease the panicked need to get back to work straight away.

If you can't donate- believe me, I get it- then a share goes a long way too.

If I end up with more than I need, I'll donate it to Trans Aid Cymru here in Wales.

(Also don't worry- these funds won't be going to NYC. We've had that trip planned for a couple of years)
