Tip$ For Turbo: Brett Henderson Medical Support

We have started this GoFundMe to offer financial support for our beloved friend and a very familiar face in Newburyport, Brett Henderson. Brett has recently suffered from a stroke and is currently in the care of the wonderful team at Beth Israel Hospital. Like many of the hard workers in the service industry, Brett has been unemployed due to Covid and subsequently, he is currently uninsured. His post-care treatment and road to recovery will be a long and expensive process, requiring continued therapy to work on his dexterity, motor skills, and other contributing effects of his condition. It is our hope that we can alleviate some of the financial burden by coming together as a community, in every sense of the word, to offer what support we can.
Brett has been a long-time adored bartender in the Newburyport and Boston areas, managing the bars of Ceia, the Poynt, and Brick & Ash before venturing into sales with Global Beer Network. He played a big part in putting Newburyport on the map with his innovative craft cocktails and pioneered “leveling up” the bar/dining experience we have come to know as the standard in Newburyport these days. He’s been recognized time and again representing the North Shore in local and national cocktail competitions in both showmanship and creativity. I’m sure many of you reading this have spent numerous special occasions, big or small, with the man we’ve grown to love for his big laugh, quick jokes, and knowledgeable, confident, hospitable demeanor. He’s always been the first person to rally behind causes brought to his attention and support our community in the ways he could. It would be great to see that camaraderie reciprocated by donating and/or sharing this post. Times are incredibly tough for many of us and we want to stress that any donation is greatly appreciated and no amount is too small. Please feel free to share this post as much as possible; he has made connections and many friends through his work near and far, and we’re hoping the more who see this, the more who can offer support and spread the message to help get him back on his feet- both literally and figuratively speaking. *Please note: Our financial goal may change as we develop a better understanding of what overall costs for Brett’s recovery will be.
