Our names are Sarah and Michaela, and we are fundraising in advance of our trip to Arusha, Tanzania in June in hopes of creating brighter futures for children through education, love, and care.

Last year, during my time in Arusha, I had the privilege of working day-to-day with young children at a local daycare. The centre supports children from deeply disadvantaged backgrounds and steps in wherever help is needed most. Despite the challenges they face, the children were full of joy, curiosity, and an undeniable sense of potential. Their laughter was constant and their resilience was inspiring.

Being there opened my eyes to a difficult reality - these children have dreams just like any other child, but many of their families simply do not have the resources to help those dreams grow. That experience stayed with me long after I returned home. It’s the reason we are now fundraising - to support this daycare so it can continue to be a safe, nurturing place for children who rely on it every single day. Our hope is to help bridge that gap and support their goal of giving hope to achieve a brighter future.

All donations will go toward improving the daycare’s facilities, purchasing books, stationery, and learning supplies, and ensuring the children receive their daily meals of maize porridge and beans. Funds will also support a weekly outreach program, providing the most vulnerable families with essential food items such as rice, maize flour, beans, and pasta.

The people I met in Tanzania were incredibly humble and grateful for everything they had, no matter how small. I know firsthand that any support given will be deeply appreciated and used with care. By donating, you are not just giving money, but you are helping to give children the chance to learn, to feel supported, and to believe in the future they deserve.
