Hello, my name is Kai, and over the last few months, my beloved doggy Watson has been battling a bleeding tumor in his duodenum. It took several trips to the ER, several ultrasounds, and two blood transfusions to figure out what it was. There were also many medications, blood tests and a few regular vet visits. His medical bills have now reached over $7,000. Unfortunately, the pet insurance company has officially denied coverage due to a stupid mistake I made when I first called and estimated the time his symptoms started.

Watson and I began our journey in December 2011. We shared the same birthday, and I knew it was a sign we were meant to be together. Since then, we have been inseparable. He has been my best friend and soul mate. He supported me when I felt I had no one else to rely on. I have never loved anyone as much as I loved my Watsy Bear.

Unfortunately, my little nugget had been declining over the last few days and was starting to suffer. The tumor was causing severe anemia, and he was starting to crash again. Yesterday I made the heartbreaking decision to assist him in his transition back to the stars. It was truly terrible and one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. As he passed, I held his head in one hand and his paw in the other. He is at peace, but my heart is broken.

I woke up today to an email from the pet insurance company denying the appeal I made.
