Tiny But Mighty: Bowen’s NICU Fight

Our Little Fighter: Help Support Baby Bowen
On Monday, June 9th, our world changed forever. Our sweet baby boy, Bowen, made a very sudden and unexpected arrival at just 24 weeks and 3 days. He weighed only 1 pound, 15 ounces at birth- so tiny, yet already showing us how strong and brave he is.
Bowen is now in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where he’ll likely remain until his original due date in late September or early October. The road ahead is long, filled with ups and downs, but our boy is fighting every single day.
Right now, Bowen is being treated for PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus) which a heart condition that’s common in babies born this early, where a vital valve doesn’t close as it should. He’s also currently on a Jet flow ventilator to help him breathe while his tiny lungs continue to grow and strengthen. These are just a couple of the many hurdles he’s already facing with incredible strength.
As his moms, we’re doing everything we can to stay strong for him and to stay by his side: navigating not only the emotional toll, but also the intense financial pressure that comes with a long NICU stay, travel back and forth to the hospital, time away from work, and out-of-pocket medical expenses.
This isn’t the journey we ever imagined but it’s the one we’re walking now with love, faith, and hope. And we’re reaching out to our village our family, friends, and community for support.
If you feel called to help, your donation will go directly toward:
• Medical costs and treatments not covered by insurance
• Daily travel and parking for hospital visits
• Essential expenses while we are out of work to be with Bowen
• Unexpected needs that arise during his NICU stay
We’re also creating a private Facebook group to share regular updates on Bowen’s progress. If you’d like to follow along and send encouragement, please let us know and we’ll gladly add you.
Most of all, we ask for your prayers, positive thoughts, and love. Bowen is a true fighter and every message of support lifts us up more than we can say.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for walking alongside us during this unimaginably difficult, but hope-filled, chapter. We are so proud to be his moms and we can’t wait for the day we finally get to bring him home.
With love and gratitude,
