Hi, My name is Tina,
I am a 26 year old woman who has had her life profoundly altered since the age of 23, When I lost my sight as a consequence of medical neglect.
I was born with a condition called Hydrocephalus. My brain produces too much CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid) effectively drowning my brain. The VP shunt (Ventricular peritoneal drain) that was fitted in when I was an infant broke in a motor cycle accident in late 2018. For four years, following this, I sought help for symptoms that were deeply alarming—crippling headaches,
deteriorating vision, and cognitive changes that made daily life increasingly unmanageable. Over and over again I
was told the symptoms were physiological, or anxiety related. I was dismissed. And told it was nothing. But it was something…It was hydrocephalus…
—fluid building dangerously in my brain—and no one listened. By the time someone finally
did, it was too late. I had lost my eye sight.
For the last 3 years I have missed out on seeing the faces of my loved ones, And have been written off by Ophthalmologists in the UK and had the life I once knew stolen from me,
However, through resilience and determination I have found the SAVIR Clinic in Germany, who have been able to restore my hope in one day possible being able to see again. This clinic has an 80% success rate. The cost of treatment is £5800. The additional funds will be used for travel expenses which are approximately £6000
Due to my disabilities I am unable to work as I also use wheelchair regularly and have mobility issues. Please help me get my sight back.
