Family & Friends,
Words cannot express my gratitude. What started as a small campaign within my workplace, developed into a tremendous fundraiser with more help and support than I ever dreamed of. Within 15 hours of starting Mom's GoFundMe, we reached the $7,500.00 goal. That same day, on July 2nd, my beautiful Mama went to Heaven. Though these words are written with deep sorrow, I also write them with great joy. She is no longer suffering and no longer in pain. This fundraiser speaks volume to how beautiful of a soul my Mom truly was and I am so grateful.
Between donations and personal funds, we have managed to acquire enough money for the funeral service and burial she requested. Knowing that our family can lay her to rest at her wishes, helps bring us strength, peace, and closure.
For those who would like to attend:
The Viewing is Tuesday, July 7th from 5:00PM - 8:00PM
The Service is Wednesday, July 8th at 11:00AM with burial to follow.
Both the Viewing and Service will be held at:
Rush Creek Bible Church
2334 76th St SW
Byron Center, MI 49315

Folks,
10 days ago, I knelt next to my Mom's bed. She has finally lost her long and courageous battle against Ovarian Cancer. Though she is under Hospice care and has little time left, I can still see the beautiful soul that rests behind her heavy eyes. I see an unfailing wife to our Dad of 36, almost 37 years (July 30th!). A devoted mother to 3 children (Amanda, Andrew, and myself), and an inspirational Nana to 3 grandchildren (Adelyn, Rhiannon, and Aubrie). She is a beloved daughter, sister, and friend. She believes strongly in her Faith.
As I was looking at her, she stared back at me and smiled. All the pain in the world and she still finds strength to smile. Not for her, but for me. My Mom is one of those rare people you find in this world. The kind of person that has a certain glow about them. It lights the room, fills the voids, settles the spirit. My Mom has dedicated her ENTIRE life to making people happy. YOUR happiness, is HER happiness. I'm telling you, this lady would sacrifice her comfort and well-being if it meant helping someone in need. She is selfless almost to a fault. So much so, that if she gets the impression that her wants or needs may become a burden, she won't voice them at all.
Losing Mom to cancer at 57 years old isn't something we were prepared for. She sparingly told me her wish for a traditional funeral service and burial. The base cost for services begin at $5,500 with caskets starting at $1,100. Burial grave liners, cemetery charges, flowers, obituaries, and death certificates are generally not included in these costs.
I will do anything within my means to lay my Mama to rest at her request. I would be forever grateful for any contributions you are compelled to donate towards my Mother's final resting place.
