I understand that this is a very tough time for a lot of people. My mom, Tina Short, is one of those people struggling during this time. My mom owns the Stonehouse Wood Fire Grill food trailer in Austin, TX. I have seen her work tirelessly over the past 5 years to make the business into what it is today. She has spent countless hours cooking, prepping, hiring, promoting and doing anything it takes to keep her business going. With COVID-19 being in the forefront, her business has suffered immensely. The spring is her busiest season where she earns money - as summer and winter tend to be much more slow. My mom has kept the business open regardless, so that she can continue to support her employees, even when that meant not getting paid herself. My mom has recently spent several hours a day going through the long process of applying for the small business loan offered by the government, and unfortunately found out today that they did not approve her.
If you have ever been blessed enough to cross paths with my mom in life, you would immediately know what a selfless, giving person she has always been. I know that anyone who knows her personally would describe her as the paragon of strength, kindness and light. She has always sacrificed her needs for the needs of others. On a more personal note - she has suffered a lot in life - the greatest being the recent loss of her son, my amazing, funny, wonderful human being of a brother, Travis. All of this has caused her so much stress and anxiety, and I believe it's time she receive something good.
The loan my mom was supposed to receive was $6,000. This loan would have helped revive her business she has worked so hard for, as she is now facing difficult decisions on how to move forward.
Any amount of money you would be able to give would go a long way. If there has ever been a person deserving of love and support, it is my mom. She is the most amazing person I know.
Thank you so much!! It means more than you could ever understand.
