Help Tina Fight Stage 4 Renal Carcinoma
Donation protected
This gofund has been started in the name of Tina Reed Willis. If you know Tina, you are well acquainted with what an amazing woman she is. You may also know that in May of 2023, Tina was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Renal Carcinoma.
By the time the renal/kidney cancer was caught, it had already spread to her liver and a lung, making it incurable/inoperable. This, however, didn’t stop Tina (being the warrior that she is), from maintaining a sense of normalcy, continuing to work and care for those around her, as she always had. However, in September of this year, Tina was rushed to the ER, having had multiple seizures and some form of heart trauma (although the doctors weren’t quite sure they’d call it a heart attack) as a result of her chemo meds. We weren’t sure if she wasn’t going to make, but she pulled through and is home recuperating now. However, She is now unable to return to work because of the effect the seizures and heart trauma have had on her body. Having lost her source of income, we are not sure what the future holds.
Bills are piling up and winter is approaching. Tina’s roof is in desperate need of repair. Also, for years Tina has relied on propane and kerosene heaters in the winter to keep her home warm, having no source of heat otherwise. This is a danger, in and of itself, but especially to someone fighting lung cancer, and we say fighting, because Tina IS a warrior and she is fighting the best she can.
If you are unfamiliar with Tina, let me paint a picture of this magnificent woman we have the pleasure of calling mom/auntie/grandma and, of course, devoted wife to Carl Willis. Tina moved to the mountains about 15 years. She is a pillar of this community. To anyone who knows Tina, they can attest to the generosity and selflessness of this woman. In countless ways, she has put other’s needs before her own, has provided her home as a refuge for anyone needing it, and would give money to anyone who asked/needed without an inkling of judgment. She has been a devout member of her church and holds her faith very close to her heart. She also cares full-time for her sister who suffers from schizophrenia and another member of the family who is chronically Ill and unable to care for herself, on top of being a caregiver for 6 years to a lovely elderly man who has become her extended family. So many people have relied on the generosity of Tina, it is time to pay her back. Tina deserves a safe, dry, and warm home to fight cancer and heal in, without fear of losing that home or leaving her family in debt. She deserves to know how loved and how appreciated she is. We ask for anything you can provide, even the tiniest bit will help, and will provide security to a woman in need of stability at this time. Please- help us care for Tina when she needs and deserves it the most!
-Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
