Getting right to the point.
I am setting up a GoFundMe platform for contributing to some of the financial needs Tina currently has. Tina is deathly ill and needs $50K to access specialty doctors for Lyme Disease. Tina's need is because she is on disability and the pay is so minimal that she cannot even pay rent.
Christina Vossler graduated from Northwest University in nursing as the valedictorian of her class. Elizabeth, my daughter who would begin nursing there the next semester, and I attended her graduation to hear her inspiring story of overcoming cancer and graduating the top of her class. She then worked at Overlake Medical Center for years in the mother-baby unit.
After much struggle with her health, she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Tina has gone downhill very rapidly in the last year. Upon the encouragement of a few other praying ladies, I pressed into her situation. She was grateful for the attention of prayers and any help she could get. I was overcome with how desperate and deadly things have become. Tina always looks so beautiful (even in the ER)
and her posts on Facebook are sweet and encouraging. It was hard to believe how sick she is. I turned to my daughter Elizabeth, an ICU nurse at Tacoma General now, showing her a long message from Tina describing her current state and lack of ability to care for herself and asked, "Is she losing the battle?" to which Elizabeth responded that she is wasting away.
I'm coming to you because she needs some serious financial help to explore additional schools of medical help. She has been pursuing avenues that her insurance (Medicaid and Medicare) will cover and not able to connect with specialists for Lyme disease.
Her dad
, who lost her mother to cancer 10 years ago, is her heroic support and always encouraging her. Tina has been so sick for so long the whole family is worn thin. They are all still contributing monthly and there are friends who contribute monthly as well and there are those who visit daily and others who bring food and others who take her to and from the doctors. She has an established support system which is so good for nursing her back to health. We need your help with additional funds to pay for medical testing and treatment.
Thank you to so many of you who have already responded to Gary’s and my letters about his daughter’s great financial need in confronting her Lyme diagnosis. Her family has rallied together around her and been able to come up with many of her immediate needs so that we can get started but there are new needs coming up and additional tests we could not have foreseen.
May God richly bless you with blessings beyond words. Your generosity is an overwhelming blessing to us so thank you in advance.
Just a few of the items needed:
A home to live in that is a rambler of the age and condition as to not be toxic for her. These have been successfully explored so the true cost is known. She needs a three bedroom so her Dad can stay with her at times and so other volunteers can stay with her to help nurse her back to health. Praise the Lord! Subsidy needed is $1500/mo for a year.
She met with a functional neurologist MD, on Monday, who is a specialist for Lyme. Tests were done and now a second Monday appointment with additional tests will help with a plan going forward. The family is impressed with this clinic and is on board. Initial testing and expected costs not covered by her Medicaid insurance approximately $10K.
She has tried a machine called an AVACEN and found positive results with the initial sampling. Some of the family took time to research and were very impressed. Athletes use it effectively. $4K. This machine is now ordered and on its way! Praise God!
The AMEN Clinic in Bellevue has an incredible reputation for Lyme management. They did an introductory phone counseling with Tina. Their initial all-inclusive service of being fully evaluated and then developing a plan of action is $5K. Then their actual treatment would begin. Their track record with Lyme is excellent. About $4K/mo. during treatment, est. 4 months.
I've set the fundraiser at $50k to cover Tina for an entire year of housing assistance, medical evaluation and treatment and the necessary equipment.
I am a number cruncher. $50K is the basic but we are truly hoping it will give her the turnaround she needs. I have looked into all of what they are proposing and find it to all be solid, recommended, MD licensed practitioners. This is solid medicine not fringe medicine (hope you don't mind my frankness).
We have some powerful intercessors praying as a team and we are seeing measurable steps in the direction we have been seeking. It has lifted and encouraged us all. The heaviness around the whole family has lifted. We are praising God for all the results no matter the significance. We welcome your prayers.
Please contribute as you can and PLEASE send this to friends and family as the personal spreading by people who know her or her dad or KNOW me lends credibility that this is a serious need coming from reliable people.
