Hi my name is michael gavin
My wife christina gavin of 25 years passed away last sunday due to puenomia.
We have three wonderful children Tommy 21 who is autistic, Mikey jr 17 and Angelica who was stillborn(2012).
My wife was a wonderful wife, sister, friend, daughter and mother.
She suffered terribley ill health due to her diabetes.
In 2014 she lost her eye sight and was registered blind even after having 5 eye operations at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
In 2019 she had an above right knee amputation due to sepsis.
In 2023 she devloped stage 5 kidney failure.
In 2024 she started dialysis treatment.
Last december due to medical neglience she suffered two cardiac arrests due to a septic finger that wasnt treated while she was admitted in hospital for more than a week. Induced coma for 2 weeks just before Christmas. Until the amputation of infected finger she started to get recover. Because of that she devolped a heart condition. Finally returned to the family home in February only to be admitted again following week to amputate another finger. About a month ago she was admitted again. This time the ambulance transport wanted to bring her to hospital on a stretcher without fore warning even though she had been attentding dialysis as a wheelchair patient for a year. The Royal London Hospital were not helpful or considerate to my wifes predicatment. The following day her pic line started gushing blood. I rang 999 paramedics arrived rushed her flashing lights to Queens hospital in Romford urgently. She survived barely but never left that place.
She delevloped a chest infection and excess fluids around the lung.
They placed a tube in her side to drain the fluid last week tuesday.
But sadly last sunday she was found unreponsuve i was called to come medical emergency.
2 hours later she died due to peunomia. She was only 47 years young.
I cant believe i am a widow at 46 years old.
The last 6 months of my wives life was like a living hell for her.
Spent 4 of those 6 months in and out hospital. Not spending time at home with her family who she loved deeply. We are all shaken and hearthbroken by these events. As i am her next of kin i have applied for government funding. As me and my wife were on a joint universal credit claim.
I was my wives primary carer for the last 7 years. As i am sure most of you would understand funerals are very expensive.
I am only on universal credit unable to work as i have been a carer at home.
I would like my wife to be buried in the same local cememtery as my daughter. Government funding will cover a standard burial plot and burial plus £1000 towards other costs. That will not be enough to cover the funeral arrangements. I have enquired with several funeral directors and cheapest option i would need at least another five thousand pounds. I want to make my loved dearly departed wife proud.
If anyone deserves a nice sendoff it is her.
My wife was very special to all of us.
She was warm, funny, kind, loving always tried to see the best in people even if i didnt haha.
Even with her father in law my dad who i argue with sometimes. You only fighting against yourself she used to say he is your dad. Its a father son thing. But he has really stepped for me lately means a lot.
She was too mumsy to our boys she worried about them, spoiled them and always put them before herself.
She was a very loving and loyal wife who put up with me for 25 years haha.
A understanding daughter and counseller to her dad who could be annoying.
A big sister to her shy little brother 17 years her junior. She looked after him a lot as a baby. Big sister and baby sitter all in one.
A protective sister to her naughty little twin sister lol (Nearly 3 years apart).
They were like Ronnie & Roxy Mitchell from EastEnders haha.
She was so tough and strong as well she battled as much as she could to stay with us.
This is my first go at a gofundme but i need to try anything at my desposal to ensure my wife has a nice funeral.
And all of us who loved her can say our final goodbyes to her bodyform.
Because we will never say goodbye to her in our minds and hearts.
The only comfort i have is she is at peace now.
Has no more pain.
And has joined her mother and her daughter in heaven.
Any donation will be much appreiacted.
