Charlie Brown: “Some day we will all die, Snoopy!”
Snoopy: “True, but on all the other days, we will not.”
These words were not just the words Tina Ebright chose as her Facebook cover photo for the last 2 1/2 years. This was the mantra she chose to live by.
In December 2013, Tina began her journey with ovarian cancer at The James Cancer Hospital. In the years since, she faced the disease with not only courage, but with the fierce intention to live her best life.
To some, Tina was their go-to for a cake that was more a work of art than dessert. To some, she was the coworker with a quick wit and sense of humor who did her job and did it well. But to those who were fortunate to know her best, she was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. No matter your connection to Tina, her positive presence undoubtedly left its imprint on your life.
On Tuesday, February 26th, 2019, surrounded by the love of her immediate family in the same hospital where her journey began, Tina’s journey with cancer peacefully came to an end.
Grief is a tricky thing. It is moments of clarity and peace that seamlessly transition into a tidal wave of emotions and questions. It is tricky, but it is a process to which no one is immune. This is an extremely difficult loss, but the family is doing okay and supporting one another in this uncharted territory.
Several people have reached out indicating that they wish to be able to contribute to a memorial fund for Jason and the kids. For anyone who would like to do that, contributions can be made here. If you would like to contribute in some other way or have questions, please contact Melissa Murtland (Jason’s sister) at [phone redacted] (text is okay) or [email redacted], or Jessica Darkes (Tina’s sister) at [phone redacted] (text is okay). When confirmed, details for the memorial service will be updated here.
