SUPPORT FOR TINA MARCELLA’S RECOVERY
I have been honored over the past three years to work with Tina Marcella to raise funds to end domestic violence. She is an incredible entertainer. Her energy and optimism is contagious. As a business owner, I know that being unable to work is incredibly challenging.
On August 14, 2020, Tina was seriously injured in a freak ATV accident that resulted in multiple spinal fractures including a broken neck and back. She endured surgery to fix a thoracic fracture and, luckily, the remaining fractures will heal with the help of a brace and long-term bed rest.
As you know, even with insurance, medical bills pile up along with copays during AN EXTENSIVE recovery. By the grace of God, Tina is expected to make a full recovery, but it will take 8-12 MONTHS in the braces followed by limited activity for up to 9 months or possibly longer.
Tina is on a long road to recovery. It will make it IMPOSSIBLE for Tina to work. Being a Freelancer, Tina is unable to collect disability insurance or unemployment at a time like this.
Tina has given back to the community in many ways through her entertainment business (singing and face painting and life coaching). She has contributed her services for charitable events that supported the work of DASI and BW NICE, as well as others. Her energy and compassion have made each event she participates in -- fun and memorable!
This accident will limit her ability to do those things for a while and, at this time, we are reaching out to the community to help make her recovery a little less painful and ensure that she has the support that she and her daughter need.
Help us raise funds to ease the financial stress, pay medical bills and provide financial support. I know that Tina would be singing for us if we were facing similar challenges!
