Tim's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Tim suffered from a stroke on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 which caused damage deep in his brain stem. This affected his speech, thought and reasoning processes and also caused many physical difficulties (mainly on his right side).
He started his recovery process right away at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah with physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy and general recovery. He remained inpatient at Theda Clark until he was moved to Rennes Group Rehabilitation Center in Appleton on February 4th.
He enjoyed being at Rennes and has been continuously working very hard to recover and go home. On February 23rd he was discharged from Rennes and went home unexpectedly after insurance decided “it was time”.
Ann (his wife) has continued working full time, taking care of things at home, driving to and from the rehabilitation center and hospital every day to visit and help him through his recovery process and remaining strong for their children & grandchildren.
She has a great support system in their four children: Steph (Michael; Brynn, Brady & Beckett), Nikki (Jason; Halle), Emily (Justin), and Andy along with many other friends and family members who travel every weekend to help in any way.
They also have a great support system that stems from their church family. The Potter's life is centered around their faith in God and that has been something they've been able to turn to in order to cope with this life changing event.
While they remain thankful that Tim is still with them and very positive about his recovery, there is still a very long road ahead of them. There are many obstacles they now face with Tim being at home, especially with such short notice. Things like his lack in mobility, basic changes that need to be made to the house in order for Tim to recover and function at home, medical and therapy needs, home care for Tim, medical equipment and most importantly the medical bills that will begin piling up.
This family is full of incredibly loving, caring, and generous people. Let's show them how loved they are and help them in this difficult time. Let's take the financial burden off of their shoulders and allow them to focus only on Tim's Road to Recovery!
Please consider donating and feel free to share this information with all of their family, friends, co-workers or anyone who would be willing to help. Thank you on behalf of the Potter family and friends for your consideration!
