Tim's Journey: Facing Cancer Together

My name is Alisha and I’m blessed to be Tim’s daughter. I’m going to preface this post by asking that people please not bombard my parents with calls, messages, or texts . They are in Michigan visiting family while my dad still has the strength to do so. If you would like to send my parents a message of some sort, please comment on this post and I will make sure they see it.

I think some know at this point, but not many, that my dad has been battling bladder cancer for a little over a year. We recently learned during a hospital stay for an unrelated health issue that it has sadly metastasized to his liver. My dad has been driving back and forth to DFW for treatments over the last year, which as many can imagine has put a great strain on both he and my mom. We now face a whole new set of challenges as we anticipate different treatment options in the face of stage 4 cancer. My dad’s first appointment with MD Anderson is this upcoming Thursday and we will hopefully have more answers at that time, but I wanted to set up a gofundme in anticipation of their impending financial needs. My dad has given his entire adult life to helping others with little to no financial return, although the return on the other side I know will be realized greatly. He has touched so many lives, and given of his time and effort so selflessly, and I wanted to give others the opportunity to help him in his greatest time of need. I would like his sole attention and effort to be focused on getting well and not worrying about anything beyond that.
