Tim's Battle Against Stage IV Cancer - Support Tim & Doreen

On December 19th, 2024, Tim was diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer. The cancer is growing and spreading aggressively, and we are told that it is incurable. Due to the size and location of the tumor in his stomach, Tim was initially unable to eat or find any comfort. On January 8th, he underwent a procedure that will allow him to eat very small amounts of food. Now that he's recovering from that, his battle begins. Tim will soon start an extensive series of chemotherapy treatments to try to slow the growth and spread of his cancer.

The cost of this unexpected medical journey has been (and will continue to be) exorbitant, and they are facing tremendous financial hardship at this time. As you can imagine, fighting cancer is a full-time job, and Tim will not be able to return to work. Further, due to hip surgery, Doreen has been out of work since October 1st, 2024 (and she will need this same surgery again in the future). On top of everything else life is throwing at them, they also have 5 rescue animals to care for.

If you know my Uncle Tim, then you know he is a fighter. Despite receiving such a grim prognosis, he is not giving up. He desperately wants to watch his grandson grow up. He wants to spend more weekends camping at Fair Haven. He is not done making memories with his beloved wife (Doreen), son, daughter-in-law, and grandson (and his dogs and cats, of course). While I am incredibly amazed by his spirit and resilience, I can't say I'm surprised. That's who he is!
