On Friday, September 19th, while in Edmonton on a work assignment, Tim suffered a sudden seizure. He was discovered the following day by hotel staff and rushed to the University of Alberta Hospital (UoA). After a very difficult week, he is receiving excellent care and showing progress. His wife, Heather, is by his side, supported by the dedicated team of doctors and social workers at UoA.
To continue his recovery, Tim must be transferred hospital to hospital by Air Ambulance under the care of a medical team. Unfortunately, this critical transfer is not covered by MSP, and the cost of this transfer alone is $30,000. On top of this, there are many other medical and associated costs they have already incurred. This comes on the heels of Tim having taken time off work last year while undergoing cancer treatments, compounding the financial challenges.
The University of Alberta Hospital is working to secure a spot for Tim at a BC hospital with a neurosurgeon, ideally Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), so he can continue receiving the specialized care he needs.
Tim has been a tireless advocate for the hospitality industry, always showing up, telling our stories, and championing our businesses. He has lifted us up in our best moments and supported us through our hardest ones.
Now Tim urgently needs us. The cost of Tim’s medical transfer is significant, and time is of the essence. Any contribution you can make will go directly toward ensuring he receives the care he needs and can be safely brought home to BC.
Please consider donating and sharing this page with others who may want to support Tim and Heather during this incredibly challenging time.
Every dollar, every share, and every message of encouragement makes a difference.
Thank you for helping bring Tim home.
