Dear Friends, I am trying to raise money to help my partner with the surmounting medical and living expenses that have arisen from his ongoing cancer treatment. We have lost everything to cancer including our home, transportation, and Tim's the ability to support himself and contribute to our living expenses and his medicalexpenses. The loss of his income has greatly affected our ability to meet our most basic needs like food and shelter. He has undergone multiple surgeries to remove tumors and cancerous colon tissues, lived with an Ileostomy bag on his abdomen for a year, and has been going through chemotherapy for over 24 months. After his first diagnosis and treatment, they thought he might be ok and go into remission. However, earlier this year, his oncologist did a colonoscopy and PET scan only to find a much larger, more aggressive tumor in his colon which had spread to over 18 lymph nodes and resulted in the removal of over 2 more feet of colon tissue. He then underwent a triplicate surgery in April of 2024 to remove several more feet of his colon, the 18 lymph nodes, repaired a hernia that occurred from the first cancer surgery, and they reversed the Ileostomy that he'd had to live with for the previous year. The chemotherapy is not working like the doctors had hoped and he has recently been upgraded to stage 3 colon cancer despite multiple rounds of chemotherapy in the hospital and chemotherapy pills at home. Up until late 2022/early2023, he was a strong, healthy, 41 year old man who worked hard to provide for himself and for me. The chemotherapy has taken a massive toll on his body, and gets worse with every treatment. The side effects of the chemo drugs are horrific, leaving him in bed for days to weeks at a time, shaking, extremely sensitive to cold, touch, in severe pain, screaming out in his restless sleep, and sick to his stomach for weeks at a time. His ability to tolerate foods and liquids has become a source of constant struggle. He needs nutrition, as we all do, to be stronger for his treatments, but he's not tolerating much most of the time. This leaves him weak and exhausted, and is affecting my ability to get the rest that I need to be able to care for him. Any support you can give would help us be able to stay off of the streets and continue to battle his cancer. I don't think either of us could handle this whilst having no safe place to be where he can rest and have access to a bathroom and a bed. Both my mother and his father are stretched to their breaking points from giving so much financial help just to keep a roof over our heads. We have reached out to every imaginable agency and ministry for help only to be turned away time and time again. We are at our wits ends trying to get help from public agencies that do nothing for anyone. Any donation, even the smallest amount would be extremely helpful and appreciated beyond words. I am just not able to support us both, and pay the incredible amount of medical debt, and all of our living expenses. We are truly struggling to just meet our most basic needs, such as shelter, food, and transportation. Your help would also help alleviate the massive pressure on our aging parents who have done so much to help us and have sacrificed their own well being for our sakes. Thank you to those who have helped so much already, we cannot express what your kindness and generosity means to both of us and our parents. No donation is too small, every dollar helps more than we can say. Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider contributing to Tim's ongoing cancer fight. It is not easy for either of us to ask for help, but we've reached the point that asking for the kindness of friends and acquaintances seems to be our only option. Thank you doesn't begin to express how grateful we both truly are for the help we have received. If you find it in your heart to help us, we would be eternally grateful for anything each of you could do. With all of my love and gratitude to you all, Brook
MAJOR UPDATE AS OF 12/23/2024
Tim had a CT SCAN several weeks ago that wound up showing several tumors on his lungs. They repeated the scan earlier this week and have verified that these tumors have doubled in size in the last few months. They are cancerous and are going to require not only many more months of chemotherapy, but also surgery and radiation as well. Needless to say, this news was very unexpected and is a hard blow, especially when we were expecting to hear that his chemotherapy was over and that he could get back to a more normal schedule, return to work, school, and just life in general. The two main tumors are of vastly different sizes. The larger of the two appears to be a candidate for surgery which is scheduled for January 30, 2025, and the smaller of the two is going to require radiation in order to shrink it as it is not an operable tumor. These developments are going to extend Timothy's treatment and prevent him from returning to work as was expected. We very humbly ask that anyone who is able to donate to help us continue to remain in our little hotel room and Tim to be able to continue to receive his life saving treatment, please do so if you're able. We're very disappointed to have to turn once again to friends for help, as we had truly hoped that Timothy would be on the road to recovery at this point. We absolutely could not have made it this far without all of your generous donations and countless words of love and kindness. We will always be grateful to those of you who have reached out during what's been, and continues to be the most trying time in both of our lives. Thank you again for your love and support. I will keep updates posted jets in GoFundMe for those who wish to know how Tim's progress is going. With all of our love, Brook and Tim
