1Lt. Timothy Steele who lost his life August 23rd, 2011 while serving with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan. A graduate of Duxbury High school (Class of 2004) and West Point (Class of 2009), Tim was 25, the husband of Meaghan and the father of 1-year-old Liberty Steele.
In an interview prior to his deployment to Afghanistan, Steele stated that one of the reasons that he was going to war was to ensure a better future for his daughter Liberty. It is a promise that I respectfully ask the community of Duxbury, friends, colleagues, and classmates to help fulfill. This memorial fund, named in 1Lt. Steele's honor, will distribute all proceeds to Meaghan and Liberty.
