Yesterday at 12:25 am, a gunshot wound to a 25-year-old’s head was called in to the Akron Police Department in Akron, Ohio. Around 1:30 am, my brother’s time of death was called. Yesterday, the world lost my baby brother to a crossfire of a random shooting in Akron, Ohio. This is a page dedicated to helping to financially cope with the loss of my brother, Timothy Hutchinson. Tim worked hard as an engineer at Daisy in his hometown Wooster, Ohio, graduating from the mechanical engineering program of Akron University less than a year ago: May 2025. To my brother, his family and friends meant everything. He was stolen from us due to senseless violence. We are struggling to cope. Tim is survived by his big sister (me, I’m Rachel), a mother, a father, his niece and nephew, Layla and Viktor, and too many friends to count. Tim was an individual who truly never meant another human harm. One of his final moments was him bending over asking, “Can I pet dat dawg?” There is a hole in our lives that no amount of money can help us recover emotionally however, we are in a place now that means we must pay for his family’s healing, recovery, and preparations to continue life without our son, uncle, brother, grandson, and a friend to the world. Please help assure my family can give and maintain the best tributes and vigils, while assuring his sister, mother, father, niece, and nephew aren’t going without necessities following our loss. He regularly covered expenses related to his niece and nephew and financially helped his mother, father, and countless friends when they were in need, and we’d like to be sure we may have the best attire possible for their Timmy’s services, celebrations, dedications, vigils, and memory gatherings.
I will update this page regularly to let friends and family know times and locations of celebrations, vigils, and dedication times once we plan them. Currently, my brother’s remains are in the care of a local funeral home evidence, Tim’s remains are released from Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. We are relieved he’s been returned to his hometown, while we prepare for his services at the end of this week.
I am updating with the information of services: Friends are called to Grace Brethren Church in Orrville, Ohio on Thursday, October 9th from 5-7pm. Services are Friday, October 10th at 11 am, also at Grace Brethren of Orrville, Ohio.
for clarity, I am Rachel Hutchinson. I am the oldest and only sister of Tim. I am from Wooster, Ohio, mine and Tim’s birthplace. After my marriage, I relocated to Lorain, Ohio, where I’m Organizing this from- I am Timothy’s biological sister, 6 years older than Tim. These funds will ultimately be used to recuperate financial loss following Tim’s murder. These funds will be used to alleviate financial burden for myself, my two children, Tim’s beloved niece and nephew, and mine and Tim’s parents following this horrific and unfair homicide. Funds will be used for necessities which Tim paid for during his life such as his dad’s phone bill, laundering soaps, home cleaning assistance, emotional trauma care which may not be covered within any of Tim’s surviving relative’s health insurance plans. These funds may be utilized to provide Tim’s niece and nephew appropriate attire for his services and dedications. Contributions of these funds will be used to assist in the organization and maintenance of Tim’s existing vigil in highland square of Akron, as well as any necessities his parents, sister, niece, and nephew may need following his loss. Tim had the heart of a servant, and was dedicated to assuring all financial needs were met, at all times, for his immediate family. These funds will compensate for Tim’s nature of giving, providing, and caring. Please reach out to me, Rachel Hutchinson, with any and all questions or inquiries. These funds are meant for the emergent financial needs following our loss, as we await in limbo for his life insurance to process, as we lack an official death certificate while this active homicide investigation is ongoing.
