Yesterday at 12:25 am, a gunshot wound to a 25-year-old’s head was called in to the Akron Police Department. Around 1:30 am, the time of death was called. Yesterday, the world lost my baby brother to a crossfire of a random shooting in Highland Square in Akron, Ohio. This is a page dedicated to helping to cope with the loss of my brother, Timothy Hutchinson. Tim worked hard as an engineer at Daisy in his hometown Wooster, Ohio, graduating from the mechanical engineering program of Akron University less than a year ago: May 2025. To my brother, his family and friends meant everything. He was stolen from us due to senseless violence. We are struggling to cope. He’s left behind a big sister (me, I’m Rachel), a mommy, a daddy, his niece and nephew, and too many friends to count. Tim was an individual who truly never meant a soul harm. One of his final moments was him bending over asking, “Can I pet dat dawg?” There is a hole in our lives that no amount of money can amend; however, we are in a place now that means we must pay for his memory. Please help assure my family can give him the best celebrations possible. He regularly covered expenses related to his niece and nephew as well, and we’d like to be sure they can have the best attire possible for their best friend Uncle Timmy’s services, celebrations, dedications, and memory. News article related to the shooting.
I will update this page regularly to let friends and family know sercice, celebrations, and dedications times once we plan them. Currently, my brother’s remains are considered evidence in an open investigation, and he’s been claimed by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. We want to bring him home as quickly as possible.
